Ricky skillfully gave our ideas and practical requirements creative flare. He designed our home to be energy efficient and practical for our young family, while at the same time incorporating stunning architectural features. He listened to our ongoing input with enthusiasm, was quick with feedback and adapted his design ideas accordingly. Sarah - 2018 - Mt Martha, Victoria Australia
Having never been through the architectural design and build process before we were immediately impressed with Ricky who delivered a design first up that met our extensive brief, required very little changes and exceeded all expectations. Throughout the whole process Ricky was always fantastic to deal with, both friendly and professional. The design was innovative but also practical, with great attention to detail. A lot of people had said to us before starting to build that we would never want to do it again, but this couldn’t be further from the truth for us. We really enjoyed the whole process and this is largely down to working with Ricky and his team, and his help in selecting a builder who we couldn’t be happier with. We absolutely love our new house and the fact it not only meets out needs now, but will in the future with a growing family.Simone & Luke - 2019 - Bendigo, Australia
Ricky Booth was the lead architect in designing our new family “forever home”. Throughout the design process, Ricky was an empathetic listener and showed a great understanding of traditional architectural principles, but just as importantly, showed a real care for how my family would live and interact in our home. We brought images and a style brief to Ricky, who was able to embrace our vision and provide an exceptional design that was true to our dream. As a hands on client, Ricky and the team were able to incorporate my strong views wherever they made sense, but also guide me towards better outcomes where it was important. We always felt that Ricky and the firm wanted to provide us with OUR dream home, there was never a feeling of pushing on us any ego or pre-existing style. We couldn’t be happier with the design and having lived in the home for 6 months now, we continue to discover wonderful elements of design and thought, that make coming home and waking up every day an incredible pleasure. The initial design work was handled by Jerry Wolveridge and Ricky Booth, with Ricky ultimately assuming the bulk of the work associated with the delivery of the product. Neither Julie nor I had any real idea of how involved and detailed this undertaking was. Nor did we appreciate the level of interaction and decision making that would be required between ourselves, the architect and the builder. Compounding the potential difficulties of this interaction were that the house was being built on the Mornington Peninsula, the architect was based in Melbourne and we were living in the Middle East. At the end of the day the fact that we had a fantastic builder, a great architectural team and a great chemistry with Ricky meant that the house was built on time and on budget and to the highest standards imaginable. He has an enquiring mind which I believe is always the precursor to inventiveness and achievement. It is entirely appropriate for this talented young man (to pursue a course in architecture) who has already shown design development and commitment beyond his years will be well utilised as one of our future great Architects.Bill Skews, Director, Skews Architects, New Zealand - 2006
We engaged Ricky to design an extensive renovation to our 1960’s brick home. With an existing awkward layout we asked for a family orientated renovation with a contemporary feel. Ricky delivered a design which exceeded our expectations. Ricky was enthusiastic and professional throughout our project. His attention to detail was fantastic as was his ability to work within our budget without compromising on the features of the renovation we felt were most important to us. He was extremely receptive to our needs and ideas and willingly made himself available for questions and advice – often after hours and during weekends. His continuing support throughout the tender and construction phases of our project was invaluable and ensured any construction complications were dealt with quickly and with a sympathetic eye for the final design. Ricky came up with a creative and innovative design for our renovation which allowed us to retain the original features we loved while making room for the contemporary functionally we required. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ricky’s services for a renovation or new-build. Katie & Stephen - 2018 - Melbourne, Australia
I have had discussion with Ricky Booth regarding some initiatives Mr Booth is considering that may assist Council in overcoming some of the impediments to affordability in the district. While the matter has a complex mix of drivers, the design, cost and arrangement of living spaces are key part of the equation. Mr Booth has explained to me his intention to look at how changes in the physical living solutions can lead to more affordable outcomes while retaining quality living environments.Jim Boult QLDC Mayor - 2017
Been a pleasure working together on Promenade, you sure produced a beautiful building. If we expand across the ditch I will be sure to make contact. Tim - Lowe Group - Melbourne, 2018
…and on the house, I can’t thank you enough. I know it’s largely your design, and it’s an incredible place now and we just love it. People are generally blown away by it, which is really cool as well. All the best in your new enterprise, and look forward to a Wanaka Lager by the lake at some stage in the future!Cheers Rich - 2018 - Collingwood, Melbourne
As I have said in the past, it has been an absolute joy working with you guys (Ricky & Jerry), we love, love, love the finished product. Just can’t wait to get in with furnishings and art. Julie - 2017 - Sorrento, Victoria
The judges found that the Eltham South, Blairgowire projects detailing showed maturity beyond the age of the designer. They were particularly impressed with the contrasting use of timber to express the change from project interior to exterior. They also noted the interesting light and shadows created by the screens used as walls and roof coverings. They found the bold use of rustic recycled timber wall innings and the timber detailing astonishing, showing the designers understanding of the materials at his disposal. Australian Timber Design Awards - Sydney - 2014 (Project lead whilst at Wolveridge Architects)
There is a huge role in interpretation from the side of the architects I think and we felt (both) Jerry & Ricky excelled here. We were both surprised but exited and not feeling out of our own personal 'design' zone. We've never really felt stressed. There are busier times but if the relationship among the couple, architect and builder is good then it bodes well. For us selecting a builder was more about how Jerry/Ricky felt than we did. I think there are some core values that are needed - respect and trust for each party to play in their position, patience/tolerance, and keeping in mind the whole time why you're doing this and end goal. If we got hung up about too many small details we felt we could bring in un-necessary tension - it just wasn't necessary. Tim & Suzie - 2016 - Flinders, Victoria
In his time here Ricky has emerged from being a proficient ArchiCAD operator to a seriously talanted and capable young Architect. In this period we always held regular design review meetings which I will always look back on as very productive and dynamic sessions. I have always found him to be a reliable, energetic and personable character. His enthusiasm towards his job, the workplace and his colleagues has always been refreshing. Jerry Wolveridge, Director, Wolveridge Architects, Melbourne - 2013
He is creative and thoughtful in his design and in offering up new ideas, whilst keeping in mind the client brief. He communicated clearly and articulately and ensured we had all the relevant information in a timely manner.Phil & Virginia - 2013 - Blairgowrie, Victoria
The residential projects completed have been complex in nature. It has been great to be able to work collaboratively and proactively to overcome the various construction and design challenges that inherently come with such intricate designs. His support and knowledge, especially through his concise communication is a clear advantage to all involved. Ricky has always been diligent and prompt in information circulation assisting in a smooth and uninhibited construction process. In each case the client, myself and all other various interested parties and consultants have been more than happy with the services and outcomes that have been provided. The ability to work with and satisfy all involved is a testament to Ricky’s professionalism and demeanour, I hope that future opportunities arise and that our relationship continues on further projects.Peter Bartlett - Director Bartlett Architectural Construction - 2017
Ricky has developed a true understanding and passion for architecture. He worked very independently on all projects, taking responsibility for all relevant stages from concept to final documentation offering innovative solutions with great attention to detail whist meeting deadlines. I would like to highlight Ricky's easy going personality and ability to work within a team environment. Nicole Lauenstain - Faculty Director Architecture Design & Arts College of New Zealand - 2005
